Farm Kindy at Perth City Farm

Service Description

Come along for a nine-week series of outdoor sessions at Perth City Farm, where the garden becomes the classroom. Designed for children aged 2+ and their grown-ups, each session is led by Erin, a qualified teacher and combines a little structure with plenty of time to explore. We'll discover the garden, meet its creatures, notice the changing seasons, get messy with creative activities and learn through hands-on experiences. Along the way, we'll also explore simple ideas about caring for our earth, including growing food, reusing materials, recycling, reducing waste and looking after the places we share. What to expect Each week will have a different garden, creature or seasonal theme, with a familiar rhythm that helps children know what to expect. We'll begin together with a welcome activity, head off on an adventure around the farm, then come back for a hands-on invitation to create, investigate and play. There will also be time for children to explore at their own pace before we finish with a story. Expect: 👩‍🏫 A teacher-led approach grounded in child development 🌱 Gardening, planting and exploring 🐛 Bugs, chickens and other farm creatures 🎨 Nature-inspired art and making 👐 Messy sensory play ♻️ Learning about sustainability, recycling and caring for our earth 🌿 Discovering seasonal changes 📚 Stories, songs and group activities 🏃 Gross and fine motor opportunities 🤝 Social connection and community Make a morning of it! Perth City Farm is a lovely place to spend some extra time after your session. Families can explore the nature playground, wander around the farm and gardens, or head to Be Free for a coffee and lunch. Parking at City Farm is limited, so where possible, we encourage families to make the outing a little more sustainable and catch the train or use public transport. For little siblings Babies under 12 months attend free. Once they're on the move and ready to join in with the activities, they can enjoy the session with a discounted sibling ticket. Garden Kindy is a chance to slow down, get curious, get a little messy and learn together outdoors.
